Team-based care is an essential component necessary for meeting the supply and demand imbalance in the workforce, and as well serving as a crucial element of improving health care delivery. Effective navigation of cancer treatment requires a team approach to oncology care and should never be considered an “add-on” resource or service.

This slide-based course will present the reasons for which a team-based practice in oncology should be considered and implemented, describe each role within team-based care and the scope of practice for each role, and explain the current methods used to measure productivity versus value within a team-based practice. In addition, patient advocate Dena Battle presents the patient perspective as it applies to an interprofessional practice and the team roles within an interprofessional oncology care practice.

Led by expert faculty, this course is broken down into four sections – 1) Interprofessional Practice; 2) Team Roles; 3) Practice Models and the Evaluation of Needs; and 4) Principles of Team Building and Productivity Versus Value

IMPORTANT NOTE: This course expires on December 7, 2019. Participants must complete all necessary course components by this date.
